BABY... oh ... BABY !!!
In any language, the word BABY puts a smile on your face and joy in your heart. During the summer term, instructor Esther Caporale and her ESL students hosted a baby shower for a nervous but excited expectant father! Amongst pink plates, napkins and party bags ... students were writing, in English, individual lists of advice for the soon-to-be father! Later, when the lists were read aloud, students laughed and enjoyed the free advice and the chocolate cake. The Beverly HIlls Adult School invites YOU, to enroll in our leveled ESL classes and become a part of an international community of adult learners!

On-Camera Commercial Workshop (209447) Just Added 2 additonal Classes ... Now 7
I would like to give my comments on Audrey Linden, who teaches the On-Camera Commercial Workshop. I had taken other classes in the past but never quite "got it." "It" meaning a certain something that sets me apart from the rest. Since taking Ms. Linden's class, I've not only gotten an agent (who had turned me down previously), but I have filmed two commercials and a short film. I hold her personally responsible for my new found successes. I learned more in 5 weeks with Audrey than I have in a year and a half with another instructor !!!

Beverly Hills Board of Education Unanimously Agrees to Compromise on Opportunity Permits
On January 12, 2010, the Board of Education determined that opportunity permits will not be granted for the 2010-2011 school year, with the following exceptions for students currently attending the Beverly Hills Unified School District on an opportunity permit in 2009-2010:
students on opportunity permits entering 8th grade for the 2010-11 school year and students on opportunity permits entering 10th, 11th and 12th grade for the 2010-11 school year.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FROM THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION REGARDING PERMITS AND APPEALS
On Friday, August 7, 2009 Board President Nooshin Meshkaty, Board Vice President, Myra Lurie and Superintendent Dr. Jerry Gross conducted a telephone conference call with Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Darline Robles and Project Director (for permit appeals) Mrs. Catherine Terry. The topic of their conference call focused on how the Los Angeles County Board of Education and their staffs managed conducted and ruled on appeals from parents who were seeking inter-district transfers from one County school district to another. What follow is a listing of the questions asked by the Board members and Superintendent and the answers provided by the County officials.
